Introduction

The problem of hydraulic resources, desertification, and pollution represent one of the most important challenges that the world is facing today.  The world is threatened in its natural structure which requires more research works and studies from specialists, in the vanguard of which those concerned by the use of modern technologies from the geographic information systems and remote detection and related sciences. This state of affairs has led the sponsoring committee of Geo Tunisia 2008 to insist on making the theme of The International Congress 2009 deal with the hydraulic resources and desertification. Within this context, Mohamed Ayari, the President and founder of The Tunisian Association of Digital Geographic Information and President of the International Congress Geo Tunisia  and Dr. Lotfi Moumni, the Scientific general coordinator of the International Congress Geo Tunisia have held a working meeting on 25 December 2008 in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan with the support of The Jordanian Phosphates Mining Company  where the major scientific modules were defined for the congress after consultation with the various members of the scientific committee.  Likewise, we call on the various researchers, specialists, the users of modern technologies, the companies and the scientific institutions to participate in the International Congress Geo Tunisia 2009.
